At Fitoplancton Marino, we believe that innovation is an essential tool for progress and differentiation.
Our commitment is reflected by our efforts and investment of millions of Euros in our R&D department. Fitoplancton Marino R&D is always focused on short-term industrial application and based on objectivity.
We have advanced along with the return on investment, without losing sight of the strong potential of microalgae and, in particular, marine microalgae.
About our projects
Our current and future projects are focused on the Agro-food, Health and Cosmetics sectors. All our projects are related to and complement each other.
One of our greatest achievements was the incorporation of the Molecular Biology and Extract Fractionation laboratories, with particular importance of the platform based on RT-qPCR. This platform allows us to develop technology to produce secondary metabolites based on genetic expression studies, allowing us to optimise production and monitor the metabolic state of cells in real time. This technology does not only allow us to improve the production process, but also guarantees the Quality Control of our production. We are also using it to study the activities in human cell lines of the different fractions obtained.
